Field Day
Field days are a great way for radio hams to contact each other around the world and test all that radio gear we have. Competitions are organised to see who makes the most contacts, normally only using simple antennae and modest power. There are different types of competitions, voice, morse code, data, vhf, hf. All designed to use different types of radio gear and frequencies. It's also a great day out for the club, selecting a location, designing aerials, setting up the radio equipment, plus the food barbeque to feed the gathering. |
